HEC is Pakistan's nominating authority for the Type A Chinese Government Scholarship route, not for direct Type B applications. In the published 2026–27 guidance, applicants for HEC Type A nominations need a qualifying USAT score for bachelor's or HAT score for master's/PhD applications. For undergraduate study, HEC also identifies the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) as mandatory for the scholarship routes covered by its notice, including Type B.
The 2026–27 HEC nomination deadline has already passed. Do not use that cycle's dates or test schedules for a future intake. Confirm the next notice, eligibility, accepted scores, CSCA subjects and deadlines directly with HEC, CSCA and the target university.
Plus the international admissions office of each target university.
FAQ
Scholarship questions
Can I apply for CSC Type A and Type B in the same year?
Rules differ by year and country. Some calls allow applications through more than one route; others restrict it. Check the current official notice on campuschina.org and with your dispatching authority.
Does a scholarship cover all my costs?
Not always. Full scholarships may cover tuition, accommodation, a stipend and insurance, while partial awards may waive only tuition. Coverage is defined by each year's official call or university notice.
Do undergraduate CSC applicants need the CSCA exam?
For Pakistan's 2026–27 Chinese Government Scholarship guidance, HEC requires the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) for undergraduate applicants, including Type A and Type B. Requirements, subjects and exam scheduling must be checked against the current university or scholarship notice at csca.cn.
Is there an application fee?
Some universities charge a non-refundable application fee, even for scholarship applicants. The university's admissions page will state current fees.
